Math/Maths High School Teacher (Part-time)
We are a UK-based online tutoring school. We specialize in teaching Science and Maths to secondary school students from ages 11 to 18. We are a rapidly growing organization and are looking for engaging and highly motivated Maths Teachers teachers to join our team in delivering top-quality science tutoring to our clients.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of secondary school students.
This is a part-time role, working up to 4 hours/day and ideally around 2 hours on Saturdays. You must also be available from at least 4 to 8 pm on weekdays UK time to teach.
You must have a sound knowledge of Maths subject at High School level (age 11-16) and ideally be able to teach Maths across the board KS3 (age 11/12), GCSE (age 14-16), A-Level (age 17-18). A specialism in physics or a science subject will be an advantage.
You’ll be expected to work for at least the full academic year (9 months) regardless of when you start.
WHAT THE ROLE INCLUDES:
- Working with Math students in small groups online and at times 1:1
- Teaching Maths students from ages 11-16
- Regularly monitor and record students' homework, attendance and punctuality; and write progress reports ensuring the confidentiality of all records.
- Work through homework questions/problems and give feedback in the lesson.
- Participate in compulsory meetings and training & development sessions to improve tutoring practices and/or learn new tutoring techniques.
- Prepare tailored lesson plans, or other study plans where necessary in line with students’ needs and goals.
- Contribute to preparing curriculum, timelines, lesson videos and other additional admin tasks as needed.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Our ideal candidates have several years of teaching experience with a record of improving students’ grades.
- You should be comfortable working with students of various abilities and from various backgrounds.
- Be willing to learn and understand the UK national curriculum.
- Have a love for Maths and for working with students
- Prepared to go above and beyond to help students reach their goals
- You must be committed to tutoring on a long-term basis.
- Able to commit to a minimum of 20 - 23 hours per week
- Specialism in Physics or another science subject is a plus.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of secondary school students. It's a part-time role and also involves somewhat regular Saturday work so you will need to have availability for that.
Desirable: Experience teaching GCSE/IGCSE Math curriculum
