I find markets captivating. I have spent all my professional life trying to understand how markets function and find an edge. I believe that to be a successful investor, one needs to formulate, research and test investment strategies based on patterns that are persistent and investable. Once these patterns are identified, a trading strategy that can be codified needs to be built around it and implemented with discipline to minimize human interference due to emotional bias. Once deployed, we monitor the strategy to validate its performance within the return/risk framework that we expect. This approach increases the odds of being a successful investor by investing in patterns that can provide consistent returns while being disciplined and driven more by research and logic than emotions.
