Upwork Launches New Android App for Freelancers and Agencies
You’ve been asking about it and we’re ready to deliver: After launching Upwork’s new iOS app earlier this year, we’re excited to share our new and improved Android app for freelancers and agencies.
With the new app, you can do nearly everything you do through the desktop browser, making it more convenient for you to run your freelance business from anywhere. This includes:
- Reviewing and accepting jobs or proposals
- Communicating through Upwork Messages
- Sharing files
- Searching for jobs
- Viewing projects
- Managing contracts
- Getting paid
- Verifying your identity when submitting proposals for U.S. jobs
And you can get notifications for the things you care about most.
New technology often comes with questions,
so we’ve answered a few common ones here…
Once I’ve downloaded the new Android app, should I delete the old one?
If you exclusively use Upwork as a freelancer (for work), you can delete the old app.
Please note that the new Android app is currently for freelancers only. If you use Upwork as a freelancer (for work) and as a client (to hire), keep both apps for now; we’ll share more about a new solution for clients soon.
Are all features/capabilities accessible through the app?
We made sure to include all of the functionality our community of freelancers use the most. This includes everything from searching for jobs to getting paid. Unlike the old app, you can also get notifications, link payment accounts, and verify your identity when submitting proposals for U.S. jobs.
Important note: Freelancers working with Enterprise clients will need to continue using their desktop to complete some actions.
Watch the Upwork blog and community for updates on app improvements and new releases. We look forward to hearing your thoughts about the new app! You can provide feedback or contact the app development team through the Upwork community.
