Assistant Bookkeeper with Tax Specialization

💼 About the Position:
As our Assistant Bookkeeper, you'll be the backbone of our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality. You'll manage multiple client accounts, maintain their financial records, and handle tax preparation tasks with precision and care.

📰 Key Responsibilities:
Specifically, you will own the following responsibilities:
Accounts Management:
• Manage QuickBooks for multiple clients.
• Execute processes related to accounts payable and receivable management.
• Weekly categorization and soft reconciliation of transactions.
• Perform journal entries and manage the monthly closing of books.
• Handle complex entries such as loans and interest.
• Analyze financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash) for performance and inaccuracies.
• Possess a solid understanding of the current tax code, particularly with respect to business deductions.

Availability:
• Ensure each client’s account is updated weekly. This approach allows you to manage your schedule effectively, ensuring all work is completed by the set deadlines. You will be expected to respond quickly within our internal communication application Monday - Friday, 9-3pm EST.

🚀 Experience & Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of paid bookkeeping experience, preferably with small business owners. Expert in categorizing and reconciling Stripe, Square, PayPal, HoneyBook, Dubsado, Wix, and Shopify transactions.
• Certification: Current QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification. Certification in bookkeeping and tax preparation, or equivalent experience.
• Education: CPA equivalent preferred. 4-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and fluently in English.
• Time Management: Exceptional time management skills with the ability to meet hard deadlines.
• Tax Knowledge: Strong understanding of tax regulations. Experience with journal entries and handling loans.
