Interactive 3D Building Configurator
Scope of Work:
1. Creation:
o Develop the configurator based on provided graphics and specifications.
2. Integration:
o Integrate the configurator with the WordPress site.
3. Post-Production Support:
o Provide technical support for the configurator for six months.
4. Expert Guidance:
o Rely on your expertise for suggestions and improvements.
Key Assumptions:
1. Embedding:
o The configurator must be embeddable on the website using a WordPress custom template.
2. Language:
o The configurator should be in English.
3. Save Configuration:
o Users should be able to save their configurations.
4. Export Functionality:
o Ability to export configurations to files. Discuss if these will be just graphical files (e.g., JPG) or other project files, and determine the feasible formats.
5. Lighting Effects:
o Optional lighting effects, which can be disabled for performance reasons. The user must have the ability to manually disable this feature in the configurator.
6. Ground Options:
o Define whether the ground is a solid color gradient or a pattern, with options to change predefined styles from the user interface.
7. Future Expansion:
o Ability to expand the configurator with additional libraries (patterns, window layers, doors, colors) and modules (roof types, flexible sizes, 3D facades).
8. Responsiveness:
o The configurator must be responsive for mobile devices, desktops, and tablets.
9. Contact Form:
o At the end of the configurator, include a contact form with fields: Full name, email, telephone, message, and configuration result, which will be sent to the office via email.
10. Watermarks:
o Optional background watermarks with logos, which will be confirmed later.
11. Modularity:
o Ability to combine multiple buildings in one project.
Example Configurators:
• Garden Room Planner - https://gardenroomplanner.com/editor
• The Garden Office - https://www.thegardenoffice.co.uk/design/
Core Functionalities:
1. 3D View:
o Full 3D view with 360-degree rotation.
2. Measurement Units:
o Support for both metric (meters) and imperial (feet) units with toggle options.
3. Toggle Measurement Display:
o Option to turn off the display of measurement units in the user panel.
4. Undo/Redo:
o Allow users to undo and redo their last changes.
5. Mirror Mode:
o Ability to mirror the created model.
6. Ruler Tool:
o Measure distances between two points.
7. Transparency:
o Option to make external walls transparent to view the interior.
8. Cost Summary:
o Display a summary of costs (price from £...).
9. Finance Calculator:
o Include a finance calculator for installment payments. We will provide the mathematical formulas and options (likely number of installments, interest rate, etc.). This functionality would also be useful as a separate module or standalone application. Calculations will be provided in an Excel sheet.
10. Building Combination:
o Combine multiple buildings into one, with options to manage internal walls and floors. When combining buildings in a "stacked" configuration, the floor/ceiling remains in place, and only the walls are automatically removed.
11. Modular Buildings:
o All styles are automatically pulled from the parent, but there is an option to individually edit the interiors, doors, walls, and additional elements of each modular building.
12. Price Display:
o Display price consistently (price from £… + VAT).
Process:
1. Size Selection:
o Choose from predefined sizes (no need for dynamic size adjustment), displayed in a gallery.
2. Wall Construction:
o Build internal walls and add doors/windows (2D and 3D visualization) with the option to draw walls.
3. Door and Window Placement:
o Place doors and windows anywhere on walls, including internal walls, from a predefined library. Specify which doors/windows can be placed on internal, external, or both types of walls.
4. Finishing:
o Exterior:
Choose from 2D facades, 3D patterns (e.g., wood), or smooth layers, with color options from predefined palettes.
o Interior:
Similar to exterior but from different libraries, including flooring and ceiling options. Default view without finishing (basic floorboard).
5. Add-ons:
o Electrical Outlets:
Options for internal/external outlets, with pricing dependent on selection (from library).
o Ceiling Lighting:
Options from the library.
o Air Conditioning:
Internal options from the library, with external placement to be determined individually with the client.
o Stairs:
External and internal stairs from the library.
