We are seeking an experienced QuickBooks specialist to review and optimize our Chart of Accounts. Our company is a wholesaler company. We import furniture from Italy and China. Payments are done using our USA Bank in dollars and we use Wise for conversion to some of our vendors. In the tasks needed, we need to set up an account for products that were damaged in transit and disposed of without being returned to our warehouse. The goal is to ensure that our accounts are correctly categorized, logically sequenced, and clearly named, with appropriate hierarchies and mappings.

Responsibilities:

Open the Chart of Accounts: Access our QuickBooks online or desktop account and navigate to the Chart of Accounts.

Review Account Types: Verify that each account is correctly categorized as Income, Expense, Asset, Liability, etc.

Check Account Numbers: Ensure that account numbers are unique and follow a logical sequence.

Organize Account Hierarchies: Ensure that sub-accounts are properly nested under their parent accounts.

Review Account Names: Make sure the account names are clear, descriptive, and accurately reflect the account's purpose.

Map to Correct Fields: Verify that each account is mapped to the appropriate field in QuickBooks, such as Sales Income, Miscellaneous Income, etc.

Vendor Payments in Euros: Ensure that accounts related to vendor payments reflect the conversion from USD to Euros accurately.

Damaged Products Account: Set up an account to properly reflect and write off products damaged in transit and disposed of.

Requirements:

Proven experience with QuickBooks (both online and desktop versions)
Strong understanding of accounting principles
Experience with currency conversion in accounting
Knowledge of handling write-offs for damaged inventory
Attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
