Al is formerly Principal Consultant to InfinitoDAX, and was Head of Business Development for QRC (RegTech) Advisory and Investment firm based in Hong Kong with offices in Vietnam, Singapore, Tokyo, and Kuala Lumpur; a group of companies with 300 employees. He performed buy-side and sell-side activities for this regulated/licensed financial services firm.
Between 2000 and 2004 in San Francisco, he ran a B2B marketing communications agency with clients in the US and Middle East. Prior, Al held senior project management and creative roles at SMG, in Redwood City, for clients that included Adobe, Apple, Disney, Digital, IBM, Intel, Kodak, Motorola, Palm, PowerPC, Intel, HP, SGI, Sun Microsystems, US Department of Defense, WebTV, and Xerox. He started his career at O&M/Direct on Microsoft, Intel and Visio in Seattle. He grew the agency's revenues from $5 million to $12 million in 5 years.
Al earned an MBA from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, in Global Management and Strategy Consulting, a Certificate in Managing Complex Product Development Projects from the MIT Sloan, and a Bachelor of Commerce and Business Administration in Marketing from the University of British Columbia.
Al is a Board Director for the BC Borstal Association and a former Board Director for the American Marketing Association (Toronto and BC Chapters), Metro Vancouver CrimeStoppers Foundation, Burnaby Hospice Society, and AIDS Vancouver. He was part of the Marketing Hall of Legends Canada and sat on the marketing steering committee for VanCity Savings ($27 billion CAD assets under management).
