I am new to the Upwork platform, but I am not new to providing excellent mathematics instruction. Since transitioning from the classroom in 2013 to start my own tutoring company in Atlanta, I have focused on providing personalized mathematics tutoring to students in middle school, high school, and college who felt unsuccessful under prior teaching modalities or with prior tutors. Sessions are tailored to the individual student's unique learning style by efficiently identifying gaps in knowledge, employing differing methods of instruction, tailoring instruction to the needs or accommodations outlined in a 504 or IEP plan (if applicable), and helping overcome emotional barriers such as anxiety, shame, and frustration that often prevent students from flourishing in the subject.
Although I remain an active Atlanta-area tutor, I joined Upwork with a goal of finding additional opportunities to teach and consult in mathematics during the weekday hours my students are typically in school. Thus I am particularly interested in teaching opportunities that could occur during my weekday daytimes (8am-3pm EST).
