    Welcome, Thanks for rummaging through my profile. :-) Since the increase in fees to us freelancers, I have limited my use of this platform. For every contract you're charged 5% and we are charged 10%. If not, GST registered, they also charge GST on top. For most potential clients in Australia, we then have to pay up to 16 connects @ 0.15c each, or more if you want to bid your way to the top. Let's say you get a 10% response rate/hire rate, by the time you contact 100 clients you have spent $240 for 10 potential clients which may or may not come to fruition because others spent double with bids. I have had some success with Upwork and achieved Top Rated Plus, in which you have to have 10k earnings over 12 months, I have let this lapse now due to the costs involved, and I don't want to have to keep raising my prices to my clients. I aim to work with smaller businesses, ones that appreciate what I offer them. I'm a mid-priced, well-educated bookkeeper with 20+ years' of experience, with 5-star feedback here and through Google. I have been in business for myself for 3 years and service a few clients on this platform and a small number of regular clients outside this platform. I like to keep my clients satisfied and will only take on new clients if I can give them exactly what they need.
