    the freelancer?

    The platform integrates the job post-to-contract process to make it easy for you and the freelancer to agree on deliverables, timeline, and pricing structure (hourly rate or fixed-price).

    With Upwork Enterprise, you can add custom requirements like cost center tracking, agreements, and other tasks that align with your company policies.

  • How do I handle confidentiality and
    intellectual property?

    The default Service Contract terms in our User Agreement state that you own any project deliverable and intellectual property that you pay for. Our User Agreement also contains a confidentiality agreement, which many clients find sufficient.

    You can also set up your account with your company’s own NDA or IP ownership agreement for freelancers to accept before starting work.

    already. Can I add them to the platform?

  • How do I know my freelancer is
    accurately billing for my project?

    Built into Upwork are several methods of verifying work. On hourly contracts, you can review the Work DiaryTM report. It tracks billable time and records completed work. On fixed-price jobs, you and your freelancer agree on milestones for each project. When your freelancer reaches a milestone, you release funds after you review and approve the work.

  • Do I get an official invoice?
     

    Yes, all payments to freelancers have invoices that can be downloaded or printed. Your finance team also gets an itemized list on a regular basis, which can be aggregated by PO or department.

    As an enterprise client, we can consolidate all project spend into monthly billings to you. That way, we advance payments to freelancers on a more frequent basis but only send you one invoice for all work completed for your organization.
