Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant Consultant to assist with the financial review and transition for a business that was acquired in January 2024. Some transactions from December 2023 are still reflecting on the bank statement under the current management, and we require expert consultation to ensure accurate financial reporting, proper categorization of these transactions, and a smooth accounting transition.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting during business transitions, along with expertise in handling financial discrepancies between fiscal years and prior transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Review of December 2023 Transactions:
Analyze transactions from December 2023 that are still appearing under the new management, ensuring they are properly recorded, categorized, and reflected in the correct fiscal period.

Financial Transition Support:
Assist in separating and reconciling pre-acquisition and post-acquisition transactions to ensure the financials accurately reflect the business’s current state.

Bank Statement Reconciliation:
Reconcile bank statements to distinguish between transactions belonging to the previous management and those under the new ownership.

Tax Implications and Reporting:
Review the tax implications of December transactions and assist in the proper filing to ensure compliance with tax laws for both the previous and new management periods.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:
Ensure accurate financial reporting, including proper handling of carried-over transactions, and compliance with local and national accounting standards.

Ongoing Consultation:
Provide advice on setting up systems to prevent future discrepancies and assist with any additional financial transitions during the handover period.
