Architect a Django Websocket SMS chat solution

Have a django app running on AWS with RDS postgres. Django stack is unicorn+tailwind, with no JS, and would like to keep it that way, using unicorn for reactivity, setup with django channels. Currently have async SMS sending setup with Twilio, and would like to setup an implementation that allows for a more websocket, live-chat like experience.

Looking for both backend to be built out for this, as well as frontend.
