Portfolio

Designed, configured and executed a SQL Server to mongoDB conversion project (Ruby on Rails). Project involved designing collections, document structures, indexes, etc. This was a complete re-design with mapping to embedded fields and, as such, did not require the use of an Object Data Mapper (ODM). Too many NoSQL projects are simply taking the "easy way out" and using ODMs. This essentially nullifies most advantages of a NoSQL database and has huge, negative performance impacts.
