Starting his career in media and ad tech in the early 2000’s, it is no surprise Derek’s core methodology is a data intensive approach to product management; ensuring decisions are always being made with a quantifiable lens and measurable. In 2018 Derek was brought onto the team at Monster.com into one of the most strategic roles at the company: heading up product for the candidate product portfolio. Derek was responsible for rebuilding and turning around the consumer product that had not been overhauled in 15 years. Derek led the charge on a gut renovation of the global candidate suite, subsequently increasing the MAU by 12% and creating a brand new and more impactful marketplace experience for candidates, talent professionals, and businesses. Derek joined Axiom Law in 2021, hitting the ground running by launching Axiom’s digital talent marketplace, Access Legal Talent in 5 countries. The impact was a 600% YOY revenue growth in Axiom’s digital platform the first year.. Derek leads a matrixed team of product managers, marketers, UX designers, and sales professionals to continue scaling out Axiom’s digital business, aiming to transform the corporate legal service industry through a digital marketplace. Derek’s approach to building teams and products throughout his career is through being a growth focused executive that is biased towards action, with the innate desire to win. He will continue to seek out the most mission driven organizations that are consistently focused on growth and innovation.
