Matt has spent 24 years in the design industry including key roles at agencies, in-house and media publication. Prior to starting Almanac to focus on packaging design, has worked on various brands including Cadillac, Hummer, TIAA-CREF, Gap, Palm, Converse, and Project (RED), Nickelodeon, and Food Should Taste Good. After spending 10 years with Modernista! Ltd. Matt was hired as a Creative Director at Boston Beer where he led an internal team responsible for all packaging and new product development. While at Sam he led a team of ten designers. At The Boston Beer Company, Matt launched the Imperial Series, the Small Batch 22oz. series, Hopology IPA series, Rebel IPA and led the creative efforts to launch Angry Orchard Hard Cider. He is a past recipient of the Boston Beer Company Innovation award in 2012 and has received a number of industry awards for design in the Beer Category including The International Beer Challenge. In addition to crazy “hack/build-a-thons” Matt is also highly active in Small Business coaching and brand building for challenger brands. Matt has both speed-coached and presented for the past 3 years for the Accion/Boston Beer Company “Brewing The American Dream” program.
