I am a highly dedicated and hungry new graduate with over 300 hours of practical and computer lab work. I have extensive experience with powerful statistical tools R and Microsoft Excel and many programs and packages within them. Covering a vast range of topics from genetic modelling and phylogenies, to food webs in the changing phytoplankton/zooplankton/mixotroph paradigm, to working in an aquaculture facility allows me to understand the theory behind many lines of work quickly preventing data being mishandled. I have experience with visualising data in many ways from simple graphs to complicated models also using such programs as ArcGIS to habitat zone maps.
The other part of university life saw me independently researching and writing scientific papers. My research method is rigorous and thorough everything that is seen needs to be double and triple checked to make sure it is the current understanding of knowledge and backed up with references. I have written 60+ papers with varying needs from short 500 word papers to long 7,500 word papers and following different criteria. My ability to write things in a concise and accurate manner with appropriate references is therefore vital.
I attended a four year course at Swansea University graduating with a 2:1 and honours. In 2017 I went to Mozambique to conduct wildlife surveys for an organisation. This afforded me the opportunity at extensive data management and organisation as well as the chance to compare, model and visualise data concerning a specific hypothesis within deadlines. As well as research, investigate and write on my own hypothesis: The Effect of Tropical Storms on Reef Fish Biodiversity. I am very accustomed to working online and feel at home in such computer programs that allow me to model, write and research... plus I simply enjoy it.
My previous job saw me as a Assistant Manager of Activities at an English teaching school for foreign students in the summers where it was my duty to organise up to over 200 students activities, timings and plans at a time. I can work under pressure, not lose my head when there is lots of data and calmly get on with what needs doing. This recent spell has seen me living in Italy for a couple of months where I am studying Italian and currently speaking at an A2 level.
