Interdisciplinary | Fiction, Non-fiction, & Academic Editing

I am looking for temporary, contract, or part-time work as a copyeditor, proofreader, and/or developmental editor for academic, fiction, or non-fiction writing. My current part-time positions do not offer enough hours to support my family. Therefore I am highly motivated to take on work and provide quick turnovers whenever possible. My main fields of interest include: * Academic: Social Sciences and Humanities * Non-fiction: Discourse & Rhetoric, Memoir, Speeches, and Essays * Fiction: I am particularly interested in experimental work (genre-benders, language play, risky style or form, etc.), but I would consider traditional prose (thriller/horror, romance, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, etc.) for the right project or a quick timeline/turnover. I can also provide suggestions for more socially conscious writing. LGBTQ+ submissions are welcome. I received an M.A. in English Literature from University of North Carolina Charlotte in 2022. I also have a B.S. in Psychology from George Mason University. In 2023, I won the James H. McGavern Award for outstanding writing in the field of nature writing and writing about place. I am currently working part-time as an Associate Prose Editor at West Trade Review and a Research Assistant at UNCC. My duties as an Associate Prose Editor include reading fiction and non-fiction submissions to the literary journal , providing personalized feedback, working with writers on preparing their work for publication, and writing book reviews. As a Research Assistant at UNCC, I conduct research, provide citations, compile bibliographies, copyedit, and offer developmental edit suggestions for academic articles when requested. As I consider a PhD program in English Literature or Linguistics, I continue to work as an independent scholar. My publications as of 6/4/2024 are listed below. I have two more articles currently under review. Gantz, Nicole. “Spreading Petals: Gertrude Stein’s Innovative Grammar in ‘A Carafe, That is Blind Glass.’” L'Esprit Literary Review, vol. 4, April 2024. Gantz, Nicole. “Becoming a Minor Literature: ‘Supposing’ in Gertrude Stein’s Tender Buttons.” Journal of Modern Literature. Forthcoming, 2024. Check out my website: nicole-gantz.com
