At present, I reside in South Africa, however; I wish to expand my job opportunities by working remotely for international clients. As a child, I was diagnosed with Stargardt’s disease, a degenerative macular disorder, and am legally blind. While I do still retain some vision, it is extremely limited. However, despite the difficulties that come alongside my lack of vision, it has greatly improved my copy-editing and writing skills. Due to the fact that I both listen to the passages using Text To Speach software, as well as physically read through them with the use of magnification technology; I am more able to effectively spot grammatical, spelling, as well as structural errors in any piece of writing; whether it be my own or someone else’s. With years of experience behind me, I possess superior writing and editing skills, as well as a sharp eye for detail. In addition, I have always been capable of working efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines. Being a self-starter, I have quickly learned to adapt to change, and am calm under pressure. Together with understanding the importance of competent communication, I have substantial computer skills and the ability to interact with others in a friendly, professional manner.
