Career Experiences: 4 Separate Careers – Each over a 10-year period 1. Construction: Alsan Inc and Gordon Construction Companies – Co-Owner: Principal Focus: Administration, Marketing and Sales Management: Alsan, Inc. was a subcontracting company employing over 600 people, with revenue in today’s dollars of $100 million. Gordon Construction was a general contracting company, based in NY. Noteworthy projects included the renovation of the General Assembly building at the United Nations, as well as the Danny Kaye Theater for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center, among many others. 2. Real Estate and Franchising: ERA Real Estate Franchise Area Developer – 100% Owner, Owned the territories of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware for more than 10 years. Sold 150 franchises in 3 years. Focus then changed to training and coaching the owners and real estate agents for each company in the territory. Was a member of the ERA national advisory board, and involved in every major marketing and sales project during the period. Sold this company to a public company. 3. Mergers and Acquisitions: Generational Equity & Other M&A Companies - Sales and Presentation Manager Developed and presented a 1-day seminar 3x monthly to 12-25 business owners in every major city in the US. Topic: “How and When to Sell Your Company for the Most Profit”. Recruited, trained and managed others to present same seminar. Personally provided this service to over 5,000 small and medium size business owners throughout the US. 4. Consulting and Turnaround Management: New World Holdings – President and Chief Operating Officer In 2 years, company returned to profitability following annual losses of $5 million. System wide annual revenue: $250 million. York Management Company – Principal Managed the Chapter 11 procedure and re engineering project for NBO Stores, a $70 million revenue retail chain. Returned the company to profitability from annual losses exceeding $5 million. Managed the Chapter 11 procedure and re engineering project for Pic’n Pay Stores, a $200 million annual revenue retain chain headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. Returned the company to profitability from annual losses exceeding $10 million. Provided consulting services to Campo Electronics, a $200 million retail chain based in Covington, Louisiana. Other Ventures Over the years, with others, built, owned and successfully sold a strip shopping center, and several commercial office/warehouse facilities. Also, with a partner, owned a 200-seat family restaurant. Education Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania – BS in Economics, Major: Management Pace University, NY – MBA Both degrees were earned “with distinction”.
