UX Researcher and Analyst

Thank you for your interest in my work. My name is Jessica, and I am a user experience consultant that specializes in primary UX and market research, information architecture, and big picture analysis and strategy.
For over 10 years, I was the web designer for the marketing department of a major state university. The title "web designer" is a bit obfuscating: my duties included front-end web development, interaction design, user experience research, web accessibility, web analytics, Drupal support for content admins, and much more.
After being pulled in so many directions for so long, I decided to focus on my personal favorite: user experience research and analysis. I earned a Master of Business and Science with a concentration in user experience design in 2016. My research process includes contextual inquiry and design, interviewing, surveying, persona creation, flow diagramming, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and usability assessment. I have a rich toolbox that allows me to learn what users are truly thinking so that I may bridge the gap between the stakeholder's goals and what their website or app actually does.
My focus is to always offer stakeholders not just my assessment, but with realistic actionable recommendations based on my years of experience in web development. I also zoom out from beyond the website or app to see what other outside sources may be affecting your users' experience.
However, I also understand the need for Lean UX and working within Agile frameworks. My process is flexible, and my experience allows me to adjust to stakeholder needs. There is no one-size-fits-all plan for UX projects, and unknown unknowns can appear in the process. I always start my projects with learning the stakeholder's unique requirements, timetables, and their definition of project success. My deliverables are tailored to their audience for the most effective conversation.
I look forward to learning about your product and discussing what solutions I can deliver to you!
