Psychologists know we experience life through symbols. Although these symbols give off patterns we can recognize if we observe them carefully enough, they remain elusive. They are Plato’s shadows on the cave wall, Jung’s archetypes, and they are magic mysteries. It begs the question, what are images and words to us then? They are what we use to align ourselves in an adventure that never stops while we are alive. They help us run, fly, climb, and swim wherever it is we try to go. They reach back into the mists of time, yet can always be new. They help us traverse.
