I'm a freelance writer with a broad swath of experience, including marketing communications, journalism, personal bios, and ghostwriting. I consider myself a kind of language technician, capable of adapting my voice and skillset in a wide range of contexts. My writing life began creatively — songs, poems, and fiction occupied me from grade school through college. At Middlebury College, I majored in English, minored in Music, and focused in Creative Writing, ultimately writing a novella for my senior thesis, and graduating with cum laude honors. I then received an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where I cultivated journalism and marketing chops to complement my creative skillset. Because of my creative roots, my writing is defined by an overriding sense of pleasure — even when writing blog posts about revocable living trusts or adaptive reuse in commercial real estate (actual projects), I aim to display my deep and immovable love of language. I have written blog articles and whitepapers for financial services and commercial real estate firms. I have written bios for prominent businesswomen and singer-songwriters. I take pride in my adaptability, and enjoy the challenge of working with new clients. I continue to write creatively — indeed, it is the bedrock of my personal happiness, so continue I must. I am a perfectionist to whom every punctuation mark (especially semicolons) matters. I look forward to working with you!
