For over 10 years, Sobia has worked on building the science and practice of implementation. She has supported numerous implementation research projects at the local, provincial and pan-Canadian levels. She also has extensive experience and expertise consulting with organizations and communities to build capacity, develop organizational strategies for implementation, design interventions, and develop evaluation plans. Sobia has a passion for understanding how to practically implement complex interventions in complex systems, with a particular orientation to collective action and implementation of large- scale change in both high income and low-and-middle-income countries. She has supported implementation work in Canada, the U.S., Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Myanmar and Kosovo. Organizations that she has worked with include the World Health Organization, Health Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Health, the British Columbia Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions, the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement, Public Health Ontario, and Cancer Care Ontario, among several others. Sobia was trained in health services research and public health. She emphasizes pragmatic and equity-driven approaches, and strives to ensure that all perspectives are valued and heard throughout all points along the implementation pathway.
