Public Servant - Policy

I am Matt, a father, public servant, business owner, wedding photographer (retired), dog breeder, and lover of the outdoors. I am a travel junky, a food lover, a fantastic at-home cook, a junior home brewer (beer), and a terrible baker (but my two daughters love the effort). As a public servant, I spend my days writing complex science topics in plain language for public consumption. This included writing blog posts, online and print articles, matte articles for local media, organic and paid social media, video scripts (and narration when "voluntold"), and public outreach materials like factsheets, brochures, etc. In addition to external public communications, I also work as a team member to draft new regulations, conduct literature reviews, and write public policy documents. Working in the public service environment, internal communications are critical to the function of the organization. A typical day for me includes writing briefing materials and public correspondence on behalf of the ministry. These demands are often required in extremely short timelines which I thrive on. I enjoy the process of writing and creating. I hope I can help bring this passion to your project and help expand the topics I write and learn about. Finally, I love to read and write about food and travel. Have a project in mind? I am happy to support those topics pro-bono :)
