Hello and welcome to my Upwork profile!
I am a Certified Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst and Business Intelligence and Data Analyst professional with a strong background in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and business valuation modeling techniques. In addition to my degree in Economics from the University of Eldoret, Kenya, I have also completed several professional development programs that have helped me enhance my skills and knowledge in data science and advanced analytics. For example, I have completed the Open-Access Data Science & Advanced Analytics Virtual Experience Program offered by Forage and BCG, as well as the KPMG Data Analytics Consulting Virtual Internship offered by Forage.
I have a passion for using data to draw insights and build actionable solutions and have gained valuable skills in financial modeling, data visualization, and statistical experimentation. I am proficient in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and Python, and have experience performing exploratory data analysis and creating dynamic dashboards and presentations.
During my coursework, I have completed several projects that showcase my skills and achievements. For example, I have analyzed international debt data collected by The World Bank using SQL, and have used machine learning techniques to build an automatic credit card approval predictor. I have also used linear regression to predict car prices and have gained experience interpreting and evaluating the results of my model.
My key achievements include building a dynamic 3-statement financial model in Excel, performing discounted cash flow analysis and comparable company analysis for business valuation, and mastering data management and analysis in SQL.
I am excited to use my background in finance and data science knowledge to become a world-class Data Scientist in financial data analysis and financial modeling. I am open to discussing opportunities and job openings in financial analysis, data science, and data analysis.

In this notebook, we will analyze international debt data collected by The World Bank. The dataset contains information about the amount of debt (in USD) owed by developing countries across several categories. We are going to find the answers to questions like:
What is the total debt owed by the countries listed in the dataset?
Which country owns the maximum amount of debt, and what is the amount?
What is the average amount of debt owed by countries across different debt indicators?
In this notebook, we will predict car prices and explore the methods we use to interpret and evaluate the results of our linear regression model.
Assess the data.
Build a basic linear regression model using a few selected features and run the model summary.
Build a full linear regression model using a full range of features available.
Plot a correlation matrix and perform feature engineering by reducing the number of independent variables we have.
Perform one-hot Encoding on categorical variables.
Split data into train and test sets, fit the model to training data and perform test set predictions.
Print the summary output of the model, select variables that are statistically significant (p-value < 0.05), and retrain the model.
Scale our independent variables and fit the model with our standardized data.
Evaluate the Linear Regression model.
