Kristin B. User Manual **Kristin Origin(s)** Denver → Costa Rica → CDMX **General Guidelines** American but with a well travelled perspective - Kristin enjoys memes, growing stuff (Food, Flowers, Cacti) pressed juice and gf cookies. - Please send Kristin memes that you find funny. They calm her nerves and make the sender seem more approachable and human. - Kristin thrives in environments where she is challenged but given room to make mistakes and explore ideas. - Kristin relates better to and works better with people she can connect to. - Kristin cares a lot about people. She cares about equality, equity, diversity and being conscious and respectful of other people's needs. **Motivation** - Kristin is motivated by her users. User reports, stories or any instances where real people are struggling motivate Kristin to work harder. - Kristin is motivated by deadlines and works well under pressure. She has the ability to juggle multiple projects at once. - Kristin also has intrinsic motivation just to be the best version of her self. She wants to be better than she was before. (Part of this might be related to impostor syndrome) - Kristin responds better to kind and compassionate leadership. **Safety Guidelines** - Although it might not appear so, Kristin is very anxious. It will take time for her to get comfortable around people, but once she is comfortable, she's more vocal. - Kristin has a tendency to take on too much at once at the cost of eventually burning out. *Please tell her to take a break. Tell her it's okay to take a break*. - Kristin likes clear written/visual communication but is also adaptable and able to follow ad hoc verbal communication. Concise and clear instruction is just a nice to have. - Kristin tends to ask questions and some of them might be stupid but it helps her understand and process her own thoughts. She might sometimes ask questions for things she already knows just to make sure she is on the same page as everyone else - Kristin will follow direct orders because she believes that people around her are smarter and better (imposter syndrome) and that they have context that she doesn't have (Due to being part of the company longer or them being in meetings she wasn't in). Be clear with Kristin if a request is something that has to happen or is a suggestion and there is room to explore. - At the end of the day, all Kristin wants is to do well and make you proud/happy. **Working with Kristin** - Kristin keeps her email inbox clean so important messages are seen Kristin doesn't usually send "Thank you's in emails to make sure that people's inboxes don't get cluttered and so emails don't get lost in the noise. She will email you (or respond to emails) when she believes she has something of value for you. Always assume anything you send her is very much appreciated and she thanks you in advance. She just doesn't want to clutter your email. Slack/Chat is a different story though. - Kristin prefers Slack/Chat for communication for quick questions, feedback and image sharing, but for situations where things need to be explained, video is preferred. Email is okay but will take Kristin longer to understand. - If you ask Kristin if she has questions in person or over video chat, her immediate answer will normally be no (but it doesn't mean she doesn't have questions). Kristin prefers being able to sit and digest information before coming back with questions, ideas or feedback. - During design phases, Kristin comes up with lots and lots of ideas. If she comes to you with 101 different solutions, she is looking for your feedback so she can choose the right solution. - Kristin is generally super quiet. As a natural introvert, she stays out of the spot like and has to make a genuine effort to be more vocal. If she is quiet, it doesn't mean she isn't interested. It means that a combination of introversion and anxiety stops her from speaking out. She's working on it. - Kristin adapts easily. Just make sure she gets an update so she can prepare. - Kristin is super nice and open minded. Her anxiety makes her shy around new people but she really wants to get to know people. Areas of Expertise include: * UX Design Solutions * UX Product Design * Service Excellence * Usability Testing * Visual Design * User Research and Data Analysis * Mobile and Responsive Design * Usability and Eye Tracking Analytics * Wireframing & Prototyping * User Flows & Journey Mapping * UI Design * UX Writing * Agile/Lean Methodologies * Social Media & Digital Marketing Technical Experience includes Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, Whimsical, Balsamique Let's work together!
