Welcome! I’m Sophie (they/them), a creator who has a passion for editing, story-telling, and re-vamping content. I hold a BFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts where I studied theatre and graduated with Honors. I'm also an award-winning and professionally produced NYC Actor and Playwright. When I’m not working on my own stories, I'm dedicated to Grant Writing, Copy Writing, Copy Editing, Proofreading, and Social Media Strategy. As a copywriter and copyeditor, I’ve managed 10+ different clients at once regarding their brand and social media strategy across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook. The client disciplines I have worked with have included Theatre Companies, Social and Environmental Justice, Authors, Comedians, and Thought-Leaders. I have expertise in creating both short-form strategy/copy (Social Media) and long-form strategy/copy (Grants, Newsletters, Courses, Employee/Client Handbooks, Emails, Short Stories, Bios, Resumes, and Job Descriptions). One of my most rewarding and lengthy projects was writing and editing bi-weekly Newsletters for the Black Lives Matter chapter in Boston, MA, while also managing their social media across all digital platforms. As a grant writer and fundraiser, I am invested in helping organizations achieve their mission. I’m deliberate in my analysis of the current positioning of organizations within their marketplace in order to leverage outside investment by best articulating their vision. I do this through my ability to identify grant opportunities and write professional fundraising pieces including Case Statements and Grant Proposals. I have a thorough understanding of the important role of fundraisers in the nonprofit arts sector. I also have knowledge of best practices in multiple fundraising areas, including Major Gifts, Campaigns, Foundation and Corporate Giving, Events, and Donor Relations. I know firsthand how to be accountable to donors, as well as the social value of investing and effective partnerships. Let’s chat!
