I have worked for over 3 years as an actuary and utilize the power of modern machine learning and advanced analytics techniques daily in my job to produce quality results for my clients. I am also member of Institute of Actuaries in India.
As an actuary, I have extensive experience in pricing, reserving, data manipulation and mining to develop trends, financial forecasting, risk score analytics and price model development. In my career I have taken on numerous complex projects from the planning phase through the completion and presentation phase.
My work also requires me to work with large data sets in R, python and Excel to develop complex projection models. I have 2 core competencies that define my process of working :
1. Most projects assigned to me in my work life are very abstract with just an end goal in mind. I have honed my ability to take those abstract ideas and focus them into a solution using my technical capabilities that not only meets the end goal, but incorporates other critical elements that were not identified in the initial assignment
2. Workbook structure has to be well defined and documented so that the file is easy to navigate and update since most projects are not one-offs. Color coding, instructions, name definitions are just a few of the techniques I use to make sure every project is clear, concise and easy to update.
My experience has prepared me to take on jobs ranging from simple excel workbook solutions to complex actuarial analysis. No job is too small or too big for me to take on.
