Writer/Editor/Proofreader/Resumes

Writing: I am an experienced creative writer with over 20 years experience in writing novellas and novel length fiction. I have professionally published under multiple pen names in romance and mystery genres. I am able to write in most genres, but specialize in romance, historical fiction and mystery/suspense with an emphasis on character development. I will write pieces of any length from short stories to novel-length works. First person, third person, multiple point of view, present or past tenses are all options; the tone will be adjusted to your voice and the narrative energy that you wish to convey. I believe in promoting diversity in fiction and will happily write true-to-life diverse characters from different ethnic, socio-economic, religious or sexual backgrounds. I am comfortable writing all levels of romantic and emotional intimacy. In addition to writing fiction, I can assist in plot development, narrative direction, incorporating over-arching themes, editing for tone and length for your work-in-progress. Editing/Proofreading: I am a talented proofreader/copy editor with over 15 years experience reviewing both print and digital media for spelling and grammatical errors, as well as reviewing for tone, conciseness, clarity and flow. I can proofread email and correspondance, fiction, articles, web content, and academic work. I have familiarity with all major styles (AP, Chicago, etc.). I am also able to provide transcription services and to edit transcribed work for clarity and appropriate grammar. Job Seeker Services: As a former DBA, I served as the department's HR manager and in the course of 17 years, reviewed hundreds of applications for employment across all levels and many fields. As a freelancer, I have reviewed dozens of resume and cover letters, and worked with job seekers to tailor resumes to survive ATS review as well as human recruiter review and helped job seekers get the interview they are seeking. I can review OR rewrite your resume to give you the most impactful, successful resume you can have, as well as teach you how to revise your resume for future job searches yourself.
