Copyeditor and Proofreader for Book Manuscripts

Hello, my name is Jeff Rudolph, and I am a book manuscript copyeditor and proofreader. I have helped numerous authors and small publishers get their manuscripts cleaned up and ready to present to the world. I consider fantasy and historical fiction my specialities, but I've worked numerous genres including romance, religion, how-to, poetry, business, education, and more. As a copyeditor, it is my job to make sure all the mechanical elements of your writing--spelling, grammar, etc.--are clean and error-free. It is also my job to make sure that everything reads well by looking at phrasing and word choice and making changes where necessary (while making sure to retain your voice within your writing). Finally, I keep an eye out for things like factual errors and plot holes that may have slipped through previous drafts. As a proofreader, I serve as a final pair of eyes at the end of the editorial process to catch any remaining errors that managed to slip through previous steps. Specifically, the proofreader's role is to perform a final sweep to catch those last few mechanical errors that managed to sneak past the copyeditor, and to check for any formatting issues that may have been introduced or missed during the formatting/layout process.
