EN-PT(BR) Translator and Proofreader, English and Portuguese Teacher

I have a way with words. Not just I love literature, but I love the magic of writing the word by itself. Being able to express beauty in paper is really a miracle. Maybe that is the reason I decided to get a History degree, though I didn't know at that time that I was really in love with words. Once I started learning English, however, I started to understand the importance of a well-written text. For a time I worked as Teaching Aid, working with a visually impaired student what included translate some documents from English to Portuguese and convert it in PDF file, and that opened my eyes to the need of good translations. So I started studying English while working as a trainee at Colégio de Aplicação da UFRJ and learning teaching skills. Later I worked as a tutor and creating educational content for an online Brazilian History course. While these jobs were not related to translation itself, there are many similarities between the work of a History teacher and the work of a translator. Both have to make clear the meaning of a text, an idea or a concept, and they both need to have a good understanding of culture and ethics. Now I have spent five years working as an English and Portuguese teacher and have been busy perfecting my knowledge of English Language and related skills. I also work as EN-PT translator and Brazilian Portuguese proofreader.
