Wordpress - fix issue with Autoptimize plugin and redirect
"We had a plugin issue with our WordPress website that Mr Adil Mahmood had fixed quickly and explain what was the issue. He gave us some good recommendations and was pleasant to deal with. We look forward to working with him again."
Elementor expert needed for design
"Our company was on a tight timeline and strict budget to create a first-class design for our website, and Adil was the perfect partner. His guidance and advice were invaluable in producing that best quality design which easily exceeded my expectations... I have worked with other web designers before but was never satisfied with the end result. From start to finish my interaction with Adil Mahmood was professional, stress-free and I had complete trust in his ability to deliver. His difference is : 1. He doesn't use templates as standard, so could custom build to match my vision and create a blog set-up that was completely bespoke to my needs. 2. He took the time to listen to what I wanted but also brought their own ideas, experience, and creativity so that the end design was more rounded. 3. He understood that I needed to see things in a visual context and has some flexibility to 'play' around with a few ideas making the process highly personal. 4. Adil took the lead on my website and was exceptional - communication was constant and quick, he explained in terms I could easily understand and they made the whole process so easy it was a pleasure to work with him. He has also great experience with custom code. He created a complex section easily. And also he taught me how to change on my own in the future if I have to change anything on my website. He is very kind and professional. Thank you so much, Adil, you have created an amazing landing page for our team and got it to spot on the first time. The color choice and graphics are fantastic and you turned it around so quickly. Great customer experience and fantastic end result website! Thank you for putting up with all my numerous inquiries and for always responding so quickly. Thanks again and keep up the good work!!! Extremely knowledgeable, and has a tremendous "can-do" attitude. The entire company was thrilled with it! Without any hesitation... highly recommended."
Expert Web Stylist / Elementor / Theme Editor Needed to fine tune and polish existing design
"Very dissappointing output - this will be my first negative feedback left on UpWork after mean years. In short I'm left with a mess of a site and a 'web designer' who seemingly prefers to argue and ask for more money for incomplete and at times head-scratching 'work' - there are odd images in random places in the front end, strange floating pages on mobile where you can scroll sideways into white space, spelling mistakes, a site logo that appears different in different pages, strange areas of white or black space with no content, a mobile version that misses menu content, low resolution images that only stretch partway across the screen, making the site look untrustworthy, etc, etc... The whole thing is just bizarre. I need to hire another web designer to fix this. It's a horror show. Full story below. I had a website built but needed polished to a professional standard by a web designer good on details. I had an original site to copy visually. Basic black and white pages with some text laid out. So I posted a job asking for an expert to polish the job off to match the original site. On receiving Adil's bid I showed him my site, and the site that needed the styling to match, to be sure he could fully understand what needed to be done. Of course - he said no problem. Unfortunately for me it turned out to be a very large problem. Basic tasks like positioning headers, changing text sizes, getting spacing between text blocks etc proved to be too challenging it seemed. After a day I recieved a request from Adil to look at his work - I was stunned. Everything was a mess. I took the high road and complimented him then spent an hour making a list of changes needed per page for the browser version with side by side screenshots of his 'work' and the original site he was copying. That's the advantage of this job - there is literally a working site you can copy and from from. Or so you would expect. So I send over the long list of changes with screenshots (so long I would hit data limit on UpWork's server!). And expected that after that the realisation would dawn on him that I was expecting my site to look like the original he was copying the style of. Sadly no. This process would carry on repeating itself until I was exasperated. He seemed incapable of getting any single section right. If a header say needed to be centered, it would be off-centre. If a header menu needed to be invisible, it would be black. If there were icons beside text, there would be no icons. If a paragraph had normal line spacing, there would be 3 times the normal spacing and it would look ridiculous. This would continute endlessly. The mobile version was many times worse however. The screenshots I have of his submitted mobile version 'work' are really, really unfortunate. At that stage I started to simply feel this was disrespectful - that he simply wasn't checking the output of what he was doing in the back end. After a few days I simply gave up. Told him excellent work and paid him. Was even going to give him a great review - I'm not here to harm anyone's prospects. However, that's when things took a turn for the worst. He sent me a message the next day asking for a 'favour'. I said 'yes, of course'. Big mistake. His favour was asking me for more money! At this point I just cracked and told him that the work wasn't up to standard. The brief asked for an expert stylist to polish my site, and it looks anything but polished. He was lucky I paid him and was pleasant to avoid an argument - but that's seemingly what was on the cards next. He attempted to convince me that the job wasn't possible. So I questioned why basics like positioning headers, and text blocks etc to match an easy layout from another site wasn't possible he couldn't quite say, so he'd move onto another argument, saying this time the job wasn't possible because the font on my site 'ITC' has more weights in the original site he was copying off. I asked how that was relevant to all the other non-font related issues across my site and he moved onto a different argument instead claiming that 'I should have told him all this before he started'. By telling him all this - what he's referring to is a very simple brief that he didn't read and didn't care for it seems. And that's where it's been left. It's my fault he didn't have the required skills to do the job, there's a font that needs more weights in the site (hence why the whole site is a disaster?) and he needs a favour - more money. Not the best deal, I basically paid for a Saturday morning drawn out argument and a week's experience of taking screenshots and making change logs. Hope your experience is better."
Freelancer's response
"I can't believe I worked with this worst client. When I submitted my work he said he was so happy with my work and also offered me another job. Which client offers a freelancer another job if he doesn't like his job. He also blamed me for another developer's mistake. But he gave a great review to the older developer who made the site mess. I improved the site far better. He got mad only because I asked him for a bonus. I did not expect he did this to me. He is very unfair he does not respect the quality of the work and my hard work."
WordPress Tech Issue with Favoriting Posts in Elementor
"I needed quick help with a technical WordPress problem. Adil not only was very responsive but he took the time to understand my problem and then solved my issue immediately. He didn't try to add services I didn't need nor help me in ways I wasn't looking for. He was straight to the point. If I have any issues in the future, he's the top of my list to call!"
