I have excellent skills in editing, proofreading, reading and writing in a variety of interests. I'm deeply knowledgeable in numerous types of law, as well as politics and philosophy. Reading and writing are great passions of mine and have always been a part of who I am. I have always had a keen eye for the details in writing: spelling mistakes, grammar errors, punctuation, etc. Even at a younger age, I enjoyed proofreading my older sister's college essays for fun when I was still in high school.
I have a willing spirit and am very eager to succeed, learn, and work hard at whatever I do. Whenever I give someone my word, I will do whatever it takes to fulfill the job expected of me. You can always rely upon me to follow instructions to a "t" and never give you back anything with errors. It has been instilled in me from a very young age to try to be the very best at whatever I do, which always served me well at exceeding expectations in my educational and employment responsibilities. In my very early education I was homeschooled, and this set me up to be at a much higher level of ability and skill than my peers when I joined public school. I've always been an avid journaler and love writing about my life experiences. All my life I have been interested and highly skilled in reading books and writing creative short stories, as well as memoirs, essays, and poetry/lyrics.
Due to an unexpected onset of a life-changing diagnosis of the chronic autoimmune disease Lupus and Fibromyalgia back in 2013, I unfortunately became physically disabled at the age of 24. Therefore, I was unable to finish the last semester of my schooling at Drake University (where I was Pre-Law), graduate with my Bachelors Degree, and go to law school. After many arduous years of having to focus on and prioritize my health, I have had to learn how to live with and manage my chronic illness, Lupus. I am finally at a point where I'm physically healthy enough & able to re-enter the workforce. However, I have many limitations and am still disabled, as Lupus is a lifelong disease. Working online with my special skills as a proofreader is something I can excel at while still maintaining my own health needs as someone with a unique set of circumstances due to disability. Many people expect someone in my position to think of having this illness as a weakness or as something to hide, but I disagree; I see the many hardships I've had to overcome due to the complexity of living with Lupus as an immense strength of mine. It teaches me daily to work hard no matter what, to persevere and endure, and that I have already accomplished in ten years more than many people would in a whole lifetime.
Besides my love of reading and writing, I have many other interests. I enjoy helping and serving other people, especially those who are particularly maligned or vulnerable in society. I love animals and care deeply about nature and taking care of the environment. I love connecting with people and have great verbal and nonverbal communication skills. My relationships with people, regardless of what kind of relationship it may be, are the most important thing in the world to me. I will always work hard to maintain my relationships with others, and I find great joy comes from doing that. I value compassion, empathy, and kindness. Having an "invisible" chronic illness has given me a unique perspective and outlook on life as a thirty-something woman in this chaotic, confusing world we live in.
