Masterful Content Creator (Articles/Blogs/Social/Emails)

When I was in high school, my English teacher (who had a reputation as the toughest teacher in the school) told me I had a gift for writing and that I should pursue it as a career. I was taken aback. And I also didn't believe her. As I am now more years removed from high school than I care to admit, I have come to realize that she was right. I love to create content and now I love to share this gift with others. I got my start in writing as a blogger. I have hosted many over the years. Since entering the world of freelancing, I have written countless articles and blog posts for clients. Several have very specific formats that I have successfully adhered to. I have also completed several proofreading and editing projects. I have editing anything from cookbooks to childrens' books. I have a particular talent for helping clients who are not native English speakers craft and edit documents that help them sound like they are. Please reach out to me with your project and let's see how we can work together!

"Our contract with Ami Brasure was fairly short. We gave her two assignments. Her first assignment was pretty good. However, her second assignment was not acceptable. It was a podcast script. Her assignment had grammatical errors, repetitions, bad formatting, etc. Ami asked for more money when we requested to change her work. It was an hourly assignment instead of a fixed price. And that was a mistake. We estimated three hours for the assignment and she logged 2.4 hours for the assignment. She used the entire balance. We filed a complaint, her back and forth reply were somewhat defending herself and fairly unprofessional. We appreciate Upwork for their support. They had good intention to help us but it was late to get a refund. They explained to us how to avoid the such a situation in the future . Anyways, lessons learned. Never do an hourly contract. Fixed price contract is the way to go."

"FYI-I have documentation to back up everything I have written in my review to this client as well as anything that was submitted during the dispute process. Below is a copy/paste of the feedback I left for this client. I strongly encourage anyone considering working with this individual to pay attention to the feedback on her profile. It is there for a reason. And I regret not paying closer attention to it before accepting this contract. My first assignment for this client went fine; it was the 2nd that went off the rails. I was given a script for a podcast to edit. Not rewrite or add new information to, not to make large scale changes. My job was to edit and make it sound like two people having a conversation. And that is exactly what I did. The script was awful! It was almost entirely website copy/pastes and URLs. In some spots, the same stuff was posted over and over and over again. But I only had three hours allotted for this assignment and I made it sound as good as it could. I'm not Jesus- I can't make water into wine. After initial review, the client said there would be a few changes but brought up nothing else. Shortly after that, she started asking if I charged for edits. Since this was 1) an hourly project and 2) this seemed off to me I said yes. She then started questioning what was included in my rate and I got a sneaking feeling this was to see how much of my time I would provide for free. I decided to provide none of my time for free. Has she just sent over a list of changes, I probably would have done them without charging. But this felt off. Once I told her she had to pay for edits she said my work was poor quality and not something she could use. She told me she had to redo the entire script before she could use it for her podcast. I asked for a copy so I could see what she used versus what I sent her and she never sent it. She never messaged me again after that. I ended up getting paid for my work and I just didn't feel like contacting her again after that. I had my money and I was hoping I was done with this client. And then things got crazy. She then filed a dispute with Upwork saying that she was overcharged. She allotted me three hours to edit her script. I billed her for 2.40 hours. As I write this she is still disputing my hours with Upwork even though I used the time tracking app and she can see the screenshots. And she already paid me and didn't dispute when my timesheet was sent to her for that week. She wants a full refund even though during the dispute process she submitted the script she used for her podcast and it was almost identical to what I sent her. And to top it all off...she USED that script!! So at this point, she is arguing for a refund of work that I provided her and that she actually used!!! I am floored. I will not refund her because I don't work for free. If you decide to work with this woman be on guard. Do NOT take your conversations off Upwork ( she repeatedly pushed me to do this)!! Even though this is technically allowed once you are in a contract you will eventually need records of those conversations that Upwork can verify. Messages on the platform can be verified. My review looks like what her other review says...that you do what she tells you to but then she closes your contract and says you gave her bad work. Be ready to spend more time proving your case in an Upwork dispute than you ever spent working for her. I wish I had never accepted this contract. Even though all of my reviews to this point are 5 stars, her inaccurate negative review will reverberate in my stats for quite some time. Learn from my mistake...pass on this client. I'm just hoping that her pattern of negative reviews of freelancers that have worked for her is enough of a pattern for Upwork to remove her review from my profile."

"Ami was awesome! We can't say enough about her. We messed up on our end and she went above and beyond to help correct our error. Her writing skills are top-notch and easy to read. She did great research and really got into the project. She was fast with her work and completed everything ahead of schedule. Finally, she is easy to communicate with and just overall a great Upwork writer. High recommend, one of the best we have worked with!"
