Hi, My name is Art, nice to meet you! I started my professional IT journey in 2001 at a company called Widevine in Seattle. My responsibilities included data collection through Internet Relay Chat (IRC) monitoring and mSL scripting. This was a great opportunity for me to learn about the industry and where I belong in IT. After a year at Widevine, I moved to Phoenix, where I worked with a team of developers building a fully customized eCommerce platform. I was young, excited, and lucky to be in such a fast paced environment. This is when I had the pleasure to be deeply exposed to PHP, SQL, Python, Perl, JavaScript, HTML and server management on a professional level with a team. Since then I've worked with Delphi, Java, C, Objective C, debugging Swift, Batch/Shell Scripting and the list goes on. I've been on long term projects much of last 10 years and recently joined the Upwork team – and I'm happy to be here! List my strong points below as this has been my major focus in the last 5 years and where I feel most confident. - PHP: 10+ years of experience developing in PHP including but not limited to testing, debugging, building and integrating APIs, custom database driven platforms (CMS). - MySQL: 10+ years of experience developing and managing MySQL databases ranging from custom written queries to improving speed in existing applications. - JavaScript: 10+ years of experience developing in Javascript, jQuery, Node, Bootstrap and many more Javascript libraries including writing custom libraries and scripts. - Web/Design: 10+ years developing and designing websites. Proficient in Photoshop, HTML, CSS and in many of the frameworks. - Nodejs: 3+ years of experience building web apps. Knowledge of database driven applications, integrating Nodejs with Apache based services through Socketio and building shell communications between Nodejs and other languages. - Web Page Speed Optimization: In depth knowledge of techniques and tricks to improve the speed of anything from custom sites to complex WordPress sites. - Chromium Browser Automation: Anything from mundane tasks like filling out forms (customer details from your website to AliExpress) to scraping data and storing on a private server. List of API's I've recently spent lots of time with: - Stripe (expert), PayPal (expert) - Facebook (expert), Twitter (expert), Pinterest (expert) - Google Maps, Places, GeoLocations, GeoCoding, TimeZones, Drive - NationBuilder (intermediate), EveryAction/NGPVan (intermediate) - Binance US (Built a PHP SDK - and yes, signature generation and account transactions do work) (should also mention recent experience w/ CRON based trading automation, MAs, EMAs, Stochastic Oscillators such as RSI, Willy, MACD) (expert), Kucoin (expert) My strong characteristics: - Problem solving - Attention to detail - Communication (the more the better and always happy to improve). - Learning (happy to learn new tech, I'm fast and good at it and I try to keep up to date with the common practices of the tech I already use.) - Patience (is a virtue). Knowledge base: Run down of apps of other languages, frameworks and architectures worth mentioning. - WordPress (deep understanding of the platform with intermediate knowledge about available plugins). - Shopify (intermediate theming and liquid experience), WebFlow (intermediate), NationBuilder (intermediate), EveryAction/NGPVan (intermediate). - Bootstrap (expert), Materialize (expert), Semantic UI (expert). - Photoshop (been using it since it's been around), Illustrator (basic knowledge), Inkscape (basic knowledge). Past experience: Above I mention tech I've closely worked with recently. Below is a list of all tech I've worked with, in my 20 years of experience. - C: This is the first language I studied and basically the reason I got into programming. Haven't used it in 15+ years. - Objective C: Have done debugging, cleaning up classes and import structures, and some basic socket connectivity work/testing. Entry level, haven't used in 5+ years. - Java: Some basic image management and manipulation. Entry level, haven't used in 5+ years. - Delphi: Financial data flow management and math. Entry level, haven't used in 12+ years. - Visual Basic, MS Access, MS SQL, AD, IIS, ASP: I'm throwing all these together as it's years and back then they all kind of went hand in hand. Data collection, storage, manipulation, basic tasks, etc. Intermediate. - Linux/Unix: I've been using it for 20+ years and while not super proficient I know my way around. I've done some network server management, light shell scripting, environment installations (like LAMP), app installation and management (like FFMPEG). I'm still active but can't say I'm a pro. - AWS: EC2, building and managing instances. Route 53, setting up DNS servers, mail forwarders, etc. S3, setting up and accessing data buckets. Entry level. Thank you for your interest and consideration! Art
