Experienced & Enthusiastic Editor

I work with fiction, nonfiction, and everything in between! My goal as an editor is to keep the voice of the author intact while offering clear suggestions for a more tight and cohesive text. Every client I work with receives my committed attention from the first chapter to the very last word. I make sure to organize my schedule to ensure that I can focus on one project at a time. I am organized, communicative, and enthusiastic about taking on new projects. My experience as a Professor of Composition and Literature has instilled in me the value of clear and detailed feedback, as well as diligence and speed when proofreading and editing. Between 2011 and 2019, I developed and taught writing and literature courses at Brooklyn College in New York City. In early 2020, I decided to make a change and focus completely on what I love the most: working with writers! Now, I am editing and proofreading on a full-time basis. The primary editing services I offer include proofreading, copy editing, line editing, and developmental editing. I typically use MS Word or Pages with Text Tracking for all changes and comments, and I'm also comfortable using Google Docs with suggestions. I can also work with PDFs for already formatted manuscripts. Included in my editing portfolio are novels, novellas, short stories, author bios, query letters, back cover content, essay collections, book series, workbooks, website copy, and academic writing. Genres I’ve worked with include: Literary Fiction, YA Fiction, Science-Fiction, Dystopian/Apocalyptic Fiction, Fantasy, Romance, True Crime, Historical Fiction, Mystery, Memoir, Biography, Self-Help, Business, and Personal Growth.
