If you and I were dropped together in just about any foreign country and I had a pencil with me, we'd get along with the locals just fine (I know, I've done it!). I'll sketch to explain a problem to the local plumber, or help an ad agency successfully sell a Superbowl commercial to their client through storyboards. I've done both. Communicating visually includes illustrating in all manner of ways. From simple graphic shapes to 3D animated creations. My number one priority is always to understand what you want to communicate, and then do it effectively. I've storyboarded thousands of tv commercials (sketchier shooting boards for directors, and presentation boards for ad agencies). I've illustrated numerous books and children's books, helped people understand all kinds of concepts by showing them visually (either literally, or with metaphors), often with a splash of humor. I've boarded on TV shows and movies (usually just effects and action scenes). Most recently Surrounded (Western movie), Walker Independence, Roswell NM, and Perpetual Grace, Inc starring Sir Ben Kingsley. In the process I've helped directors and creatives solve problems, sell their ideas and look good. And there's all kinds of other visual problem solving conundrums that have landed on my drawing board over the years. And my animated GIFs on GIPHY.com have had over 87 million views. With over 25 years of making people say 'WOW!' I know just what I can handle. That's pretty much anything (or I don't take it on). I've come a long way since my art school graduation! Oh, and speaking of 'WOW', one of my production shooting boards for World of Warcraft (WoW) starring Ozzy Osbourne has got over 279,000 views on YouTube! Of course it is World of Warcraft, and it is Ozzy, but hey. That's still pretty nice! Here is a recommendation from that director (since retired, but I did many, many jobs with him, and I've worked for his daughter since then on other commercials)... “Steve Worthington is simply the best storyboard artist I have ever used.
