In addition to being one of the key concept originators in the development of 11 new consumer product development patents I have also been using SolidWorks to design new automation machinery and tooling design, as well as plastic part and molded part design, working with marketing and engineering teams to their required standards. I have also helped customers re-use engineering CAD models to build a workflow to create photo-realistic renderings and art for catalogs, marketing, packaging design and internal presentations which would normally cost a lot of time and money with outside artists. My skills also include CAD/CAM CNC programming as well as experience in operating CNC and manual machine tools, lathes, mills, 4 axis and 5 axis as well as years of experience operating and servicing 3D printers both FDM or FFF, and SLA or liquid based, to create working prototypes in all kinds of materials to directly test new product concepts. I have also introduced ways to increase uptime on broken down machinery using 3D printed end-use parts in a production floor. Sometimes taking a down machine back to uptime from 12 weeks to just hours, allowing shipment of product in the tens of thousands of dollars that otherwise would have to wait for 4-12 week lead times to be operational. I also have a number of laser scanner technologies on hand to scan existing items and can perform reverse engineering from scan point cloud data to CAD using such software as Geomagic Design X. This combination of skills has allowed me to lead the design and development of new products and manufacturing processes, utilizing novel materials and technologies to find new ways to make better, faster, and lower cost methods of production of consumer products and I'm excited to learn more about your needs in engineering and design/development and how I can help you achieve your goals.
