Copyediting is my passion! My areas of expertise are line editing, copy editing, and proofreading. I have been the copy editor and final read for the New York Times best-selling author Dianna Love and many other authors for almost fifteen years. Dianna writes romance/fantasy fiction, crime thrillers, and young adult fantasy fiction. I do the copy editing and find 95% of the mistakes. Next, a couple of others proofread it. Then I do the final read, ensuring it is 100% clean and error-free. I do all the steps for my other authors. I recently worked as a copy editor for a law firm, verifying that all documents (trusts, wills, and correspondence) left the office 100% clean and error-free. Besides copyediting and proofreading, I am also an excellent writer. I have helped two first-time authors with great stories, but they needed almost every sentence rewritten. That is one extreme. All the authors I have worked with have published their work. I have been fortunate to develop a fantastic rapport with every author I have ever worked with. Excellent communication is critical. With a sharp eye for detail, my efficiency is unmatched, ensuring your project is completed on time. My knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and AP style, coupled with my bachelor’s degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, further guarantees the quality and efficiency of my work, giving you confidence in my ability to meet deadlines. I offer two pricing options to accommodate different budget restraints: a flat rate per word and an hourly rate. My flat rate is between $.035 and $.05 per word, and my hourly rate is between $40 and $55. My rates are negotiable, especially for long-term, ongoing work. Most people do better by the hour unless the project is highly labor-intensive. I offer the best of both options, giving you the most beneficial rate. If my hourly wages hit the total quote for “by the word,” I will stop timing, so you receive the lowest rate. This is my process. I do the first read (copyediting and line editing) using the tracking feature on Microsoft Word and find 95% of the mistakes. I will send it to you so you can accept/reject the edits and respond to the comments. You don’t have to accept every edit. It is more important to reject the edits you DON’T want and respond to the comments/questions. Then, you will return it to me for a second read (proofreading). I will begin with a clean copy and read it again. We will continue this process (usually only two reads are required) until your document is 100% clean and error-free. The completion time is based on how many words are in the document and how quickly you return the first read to me. I have copyedited and proofread over eighteen novels by New York Times best-selling author Dianna Love. Some other books I have worked on include: • 70 50 10: The Journey to an Entrepreneurial Legacy by Mike Russell and Visionary Writing (Amazon) • Black Diamond: The Fourth Missing Bullet by B. Frank Hall (Amazon) • Can God Use Me? by Kristine Kimmel (Amazon) • Courage for America by Jackie Arnold (Amazon) • Mulberry Creek by Harry Bach (Amazon) • Five Indelible Men by S. Z. Mustafa (Amazon) • Ikhla’s Butterfly by S. Z. Mustafa (Amazon) • The High School of Low Blows by Rosie Medero • People and Plants by Desiree Delcourt • The Best Adventure Ever by Mathew Jensen (Amazon) • Lifemap for Teens by Mathew Jensen (Amazon) • The Sales Engineer’s Playbook by Darel D. Ison II • Money Laundering and Compliance in Football by Ibrahim ElOraby (Amazon) • Happy Monday: Designing Your Dream Career by Nathan Stuck and Visionary Writing (Amazon) • Practice Pathfinder Blueprint by Mathew Jensen (Amazon) • Original Human Beings by Dr. Tim White (just completed, not yet published) • A Café in Paris by Glenn Ritt (Amazon) • The Hypocrisy of the Church by James E. Allen • The Prescription for Overcoming by Dr. Annetta Alexander (Purpose Publishing) • Speak, But Not For Me by Enock Menge (Amazon) • Sun Tzu’s Art of War in The Battlefield of Project Management by Puneet Kuthiala • Three books published by Castle Vale Publishers Ltd. -Stop Overthinking It -Sky Soldiers -The Great UN Reset • Twenty-four Ruthless Romance Novels I am a natural-born proofreader and an excellent candidate for your job. If you send me a message, I can send you my resume and a document with the dedication from the book that New York Times best-selling author Dianna Love dedicated to me and other authors’ acknowledgments. Please send me a few sample pages of your work to edit so you can see how I can help.

I've been writing regularly since my first newspaper job in college in 1986, and I've been editing others' writing off-and-on since 1989 -- at my first newspaper job out of college. I've written one unpublished novel and three published books of nonfiction -- two on the rights of children in society, and a brand-new U.S. Constitution. I've written dozens of professional essays for online magazines, including The Savvy Street. I taught writing briefly at the university level (1995) and conducted dozens of private classes at home on "organized thinking" to freelancers from 1993 to 2006. I have a high level of motivation on projects, enjoying the challenges of such undertakings, as well as working with others, when the opportunity arises. I love the writing and editing process immensely.

The first time I worked with her was for line edits. Her edits made me say “Yes!” and took my essay from good to great. The second time, I was lacking confidence to begin the writing process. Raven’s enthusiasm, laser-sharp focus, consulting method and result orientation boosted my confidence and set me on track. She provided direct feedback, helped me draw out the strong anecdotes, created an essay outline, and kept me on schedule. During my interview with the Director of the MA Org Psychology program, they mentioned my essay being PhD level. I would absolutely invest in my future in this way again, and I’ve recommended Raven’s services to family.” – Althea “During my undergraduate application cycle, I consulted with Raven to assist in crafting meaningful essay responses for my application. From the initial consultation, Raven was able to formulate a clear path to make the daunting process manageable. Throughout the revisions process, Raven asked meaningful questions that inspired true reflection which allowed honest and powerful responses. She guided me in finding my most relevant and impactful experiences that highlighted my capabilities as a student. She has a true talent for bringing thoughts into writing. In times where I struggled finding direction in my essays, Raven was able to steer my essays towards a clear and concise direction. I would not have been admitted to my top choice university without her! I highly recommend Raven to guide you through the application process as she will be able to highlight the best parts of you.” – Johan “Raven is a very thorough and efficient editor. She really cares about getting your writing absolutely perfect. She has edited my resume, cover letters, essays, etc. She goes through each sentence and makes sure that they are grammatically correct and very professional. Raven is the best editor and you will not regret choosing her!” – Kendall V. “Raven was amazing. I received her help with my resume and cover letter as I was applying for an assistantship. She was very helpful and thorough. She made sure to ask specific questions so that she could understand my work experience so that my resume would be top notch. The entire process was smooth and informative. Needless to say, Raven knows her stuff! A few weeks later, I received a call that I had gotten the assistantship. If you are looking for someone who is professional and proficient, Raven is the person for you!” – Alexis

A long time ago and in a land far away (just kidding...only one of these is true), I entered college like many people do: directionless and looking for the next party. It was a rough start to my academic career. A few months later, "Introduction to Creative Writing" was the only class I was passing. Admittedly, it was also the only class I was attending, but even after I adjusted my terrible habits and decided to show up for the other courses in which I'd enrolled, there was a reason I never skipped English. Whether with artistic flair or through concise, organized prose, I knew that I wanted to craft a career out of reading and writing. So, that's what I did. I acknowledge literacy is a foundational element of education and that, practically speaking, most people possess these skills. However, the amount of time I spend performing these activities for my clients (as well as practicing them in my leisure time) affords me a unique position in the copywriting marketplace. The fact of the matter is--this is all that I do. I read, and I write. Over the past 20 years, I've composed everything from love poems to landing pages for others, and I've relished every moment of the process. If you'd like more details about the type(s) of writing I provide for clients: I convince admissions committees to accept people into their university. I compose personal bios that build confidence in potential clients. I describe services or products that elicit intererst in prospective buyers. I generate creative ideas for people whose muse has disappeared. If you need help getting unstuck on a writing assignment, if you don't have the margin in your life to produce a writing task, or if you don't have the requisite skills for a specific writing project, I want to help. To me, there's no greater satisfaction than writing a story, an article, or even an email for someone who lacks the time or confidence to compose it on their own. I hope you will consider me for any writing or editing projects that require a dedicated and talented professional. Joe

I'm a professional editor with years of writing and researching experience. I have: - Ghostwritten novels and novellas - Copy edited novels and novellas - Written and edited many published blogs - Written and edited many scholastic essays - Written and edited legal documents/work manuals - Transcribed work on multiple platforms Whether creative, academic, or otherwise, I would love to work for and with you! I'm an English major, java junkie, and bibliophile. I've written a few short stories, but I generally prefer reading to writing. Books, articles, fanfiction; basically anything with prose and syntax. My favorite authors are Michael McDowell, Jane Austen, Neil Gaiman, J.R.R. Tolkien, James Joyce, Stephen King, and David Foster Wallace. Ask me again tomorrow, and I'll have a whole different list! I adore all genres, from sci-fi to non-fiction to romance, true crime and horror, and all mixes and mashes therein. Therefore, I am happy to proofread and edit any document put before me. I have over ten years of experience in Copy Editing and have a wide and varied skill set.

I'm an international administrator by day and a creative writer by night. Whether you're wanting content for a blog, novel, or research project, I can deliver it! • I have extensive writing experience—both creative and academic. • I’ll work with you to develop a project from start to finish. • Professionalism is the name of the game. • Clear and frequent communication is important to me, so let’s chat! I post to my own personal blog ((toadscribe.com)) semi-regularly, so check it out if you'd like to see current examples of my work. Want a blog post about a niche topic? No problem! My background in academic research allows me to create authentic and informed content on any subject. Many of my clients are non-native English speakers, so I'm well versed in editing drafts for native audiences. Grammar, word choice, and paragraph structure are some of my specialties. I also offer consultations for creative writing, such as story plots and character creation. If any of this sounds relevant to your project or if you want to know more, please send me a message!
