Do you need to clean up or finalize your academic papers, journal manuscripts, thesis, or dissertation? I am your grammar, spelling, and punctuation police! I am results-driven and will honor the deadline(s) you set. My expertise is in APA style (both 6th and 7th editions). I also have copyedited/proofread/formatted papers and manuscripts in AMA, MLA, Vancouver, Harvard, and ASA styles. As your copyeditor, the goal is to make your work cohesive, consistent, and complete. I will revise your draft to make it free of grammatical and factual errors and correct any awkward language and overly wordy sentences. I focus on grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax (sentence structure) for corrections. For formatting, I will ensure fonts, layout, and style consistency according to guidelines (i.e., APA, university, etc.). As a proofreader, I will minimize embarrassing mistakes before publication, specifically looking for and correcting typographical and grammatical errors. I will also detect inconsistency in layout or fonts. My proofreading service will be the final check of your written work before submission to the university, journal editors, or publishers. I primarily use Microsoft Word using track changes for editing and proofreading. I have also used Google Docs through suggesting mode and OverLeaf (LaTex) for previous client work. If requested, I can use these tools. I deliver the work in two versions: tracking and no tracking changes. I pride myself on time management. Upon contract agreement, we will discuss a reasonable deadline for your work. I will send you the deliverables on or before the deadline. If there are any delays, I will inform you immediately. I want to emphasize that good copyediting or proofreading occurs when it is not hurried. Rush editing/proofreading work will incur additional fees.Academic Proofreading

Top skills in academic, business, fiction, and nonfiction for proofreading, editing, and formatting: Please note that I am a very detailed editor, and I don't usually accept unreasonable rush jobs. If in doubt, please ask though. I thrive on finding mistakes in grammar, spelling, context, syntax, redundancies, repetitions, punctuation, and in facts. The Chicago Manual of Style and APA are home for me, and Webster's Unabridged is my main daily haunt. I also work in MLA, GPO, Vancouver, Harvard, AMA, and AP as well. I love digging into research, too. Academics are my first love, but I am just as comfortable working with businesses and helping authors with their prose. I enjoy coaching and explaining why I am suggesting changes, so there can be growth on the author's part if so desired. It's not about the money—it's about the game! I like the challenge of finding as many errors as possible. I like the challenge of making you look your best. This is why I prefer flat rate to hourly. With a flat fee, the work can be developed without worry. It can be delivered with pride. Because my job is to make your work look good, in most cases, I can't do that while rushing. So unless a rush job is timed appropriately for the level of detailed editing that I do, I can't accommodate rush jobs. Feel free to ask though. It never hurts to ask. There are periods of downtime occasionally. And I like to give back to the community. So, if there isn't a lot of money to work with, please inquire. It never hurts to ask, and if I do have the time, I may be able to help. If you do, please mention that you read my review and would like help on the pricing. To learn about my editing process, ask me for my bio.Academic Proofreading

I have a PhD in philosophy and am a published academic author. I have a keen eye for errors in grammar, syntax, spelling, punctuation, and formatting, but I edit under the assumption that my client wants their own style and word choices respected. I am happy to provide suggestions for stylistic improvements, but clients must explicitly request that kind of assistance if I am to provide it. I do provide developmental editing (more drastic structural changes), but only in subject areas related to my degrees (philosophy, history, art history, and film studies). I am familiar with a variety of style manuals, including The Chicago Manual of Style (17th edition) and APA (7th edition).Academic Proofreading

I’m a graduate student who has been cultivating her writing, proofreading, and editing skills since the age of thirteen, through papers, applications, emails, and everything in between. I’ve won awards for my writing, both in the academic setting as well as for more casual writing like blog posts. I spent my free time during the early pandemic working on writing and editing my own book, all while reading more books than anyone really should. As a former philosophy major and law student, I know how to firmly and convincingly get my point across in my writing, and I’d love to help you do so too!Academic Proofreading

I am a proofreader with over fifteen years’ experience, proofreading academic papers, business documents, or manuscripts. When something has been written, it should be read by someone else to make sure there aren’t any typo’s, misspellings, double words or missing words, and proper punctuation. That is where I come in, catching those little errors to make your writing look and sound great. Proofreading is checking for typo’s, spelling errors, double or missing words, and proper punctuation. Copy editing will look for a better way to phrase a sentence. I prefer to use Word’s Track Changes but am familiar with using Google Docs. I might use some tools like Grammarly to assist in catch some errors, but I don’t rely on the tools as they don’t catch everything. Helping your written words look good and convey the message you want in your voice or style is important to me, I won’t change what you say ─ giving you total control over any suggestion I offer. I have five years of office management experience, eighteen years of working in education. I’ve done developmental reviews and beta reads for various manuscripts, but I prefer proofreading, or copy editing.Academic Proofreading

I have been writing and editing academic work for over 8 years. I’ve published in academic journals for the past two years. I’m an expert at Turabian, Chicago, and APA. I hold a Masters Degree with an intense focus on writing (3.89 GPA). My day job is working as an environmental, safety, snd health manager for a large construction company. If you have academic or business (e.g. Emergeny Action Plans “EAP” or Fire Protection Plan “FPP”) writing needs I am ready to help! I am a former U.S. Navy fast-attack submarine nuclear reactor operator. Reading and writing technical manuals and procedures have been a fact of life for me for over 15 years. I've even learned not to fall asleep while reading them! I trained as a scuba diver (on the same training base as combat marines, air rescue, and Navy SEALs). My last assignment in the Active Navy was to use cutting-edge sales and recruiting techniques to recruit top-quality men and women for the nuclear power program. (It’s a lot harder than it sounds!). I transitioned to the Reserves and continue to serve today as a Senior Enlisted Leader for Sailors all over the country. My units mission is to go to Shipyards and supplement the workforce there.
