After several years working in this field (of course not on Upwork, as you can see, I just jumped on Upwork), I've found the biggest problem of other purchasers is that most of them only look for suppliers on the internet, but rarely go to the actual market to find. Of course, sitting at the office and searching saves both time and effort, and big suppliers can be easily found online, and at now, this is also the best method. But these suppliers have to spend a lot of money on marketing, so their cost is also relatively high. Sometimes going to the actual market you will find a lot of good quality and reasonable price suppliers that you cannot find online. Moreover, we can see how their company is, how the product is, which helps a lot in our work. As a good purchasers, you not only follow up the product's price trends you are working on, but also follow up those products that have a direct and indirect effect on your company's products. So we are able to know for sure when purchasing is cost-optimized, or have a plan to stock up on goods when market prices rise. In the current economic situation, due to the effects of war and epidemic, all kinds of goods have increased in price and there is a serious shortage of goods supply, and the responsibility of a purchasers is to constantly looking for backup sources as well as stocking goods so that company do not have to be passive in case of shortage of goods or rising prices.
