Seasoned Silicon Valley engineer with 10+ years of experience expert in iOS dev. I have worked on a number of successful iPhone apps published in the App Store including one Webby award nominee in 2015 on which I was technical lead. I know XCode, Swift, Objective-C, storyboard dev, image processing, graphics and video. I have worked at successful startups and know client/server technology. I also have experience with different audio and video codecs, image formats, converting and streaming video. I have experience working on a commercial desktop application for the Red One video camera. And putting together back-end websites that integrate with UX designs using Ruby on Rails and deploying website solutions to both heroku and Amazon AWS. I am able to architect higher-level solutions for a web-based API in REST communicating with thin iPhone and Android clients via JSON. I have done video and other research for Walt Disney Imagineering R+D. I also worked together with Motorola and Sprint on the first camera cell phones and video phones. I also put together an MVP (minimum viable product) for a financial sector startup company from the ground up that secured first round financing and a deal with Homeland Grocery Stores. As to "bugs," I have used a number of different bug tracking tools including the latest Atlassian JIRA solutions. I have used subversion, github and bitbucket for both public and private repos. I have worked extensively with QA departments and managers for product releases and bug tracking. I have also worked with international teams delegating tasks and on localization. I have used basecamp for project management. I have also developed my own iPhone applications and have a couple of apps that do reasonably well in the App Store. Most of my experience has been in industry working in Silicon Valley and parts of Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. I am now at the point where I would like to move on to freelancing, consulting and contracting. I am a very effective engineer and I learn quickly. I am good at delivering release software on time using an Agile methodology working together with designers, other engineers, project managers, international teams and QA departments. If you want quality work at a reasonable price I do charge a decent rate because I am worth it.
