About Colour Consultancy Nothing changes the mood of a living space more dramatically than the selection of paint and colour. It is the most important decision home owners face during renovation projects. But for some, the choice of colour can be a contentious issue. At best, it may leave home owners feeling confused and hesitant about what to choose. Many end up painting the walls white to avoid any disasters. At worst, it can lead to marital arguments as differing opinions come to head. There is a real risk of wasted time or even wasted money if a decorator needs to come back to repaint the walls! As a colour consultant, I advise my clients which colours to use in order to create the mood they desire. This is primarily in regards to the walls but if requested I also provide advice on which colours to use on furniture. My job is NOT to dictate. My first task is to listen and understand the goals of your project. Only then, using my knowledge of what is available according to your budget, and how it will fit the unique characteristics of your room, I can provide informed advice based on experience. I have worked as an in-house colour consultant and colour advisor for some of the UK’s leading interior design brands including ‘Farrow and Ball’ and ‘Fired Earth’. I am a native Spanish speaker and completely fluent / bilingual in English. I am a naturalised British citizen having lived and worked in London for over 10 years. Having met my husband in London, we set off looking for new adventures and to see the world. I'm a versatile writer hoping to pick up some freelance work. I have written on a range of subjects in the past and, with a strong academic background, am comfortable researching those about which I have less knowledge and happy turning my hand to almost anything. This academic background culminated in a Masters, in Art History from Utrecht University. Within this, writing to a high level, and to strict deadlines, was a consistent requirment. This has left with me high levels of accuracy when it comes to grammar and punctuation, and allowed me to develop a very formal and correct writing style. And yet, I've alway written bits and pieces on the side - mainly for my own pleasure but also, I confess, with half an eye on building up something of a portfolio. In this, the style has usually been a bit more lively, and hopefully a bit more engaging for a non-Art History Professor readership. Much of my output in this has been on sport (particulalry football, baseball and cricket), with my current primary project being a journal which discusses statistical analysis in cricket.
