With the client it was a fairly simple job that I was more than capable of handling. The job was to fix something on a server. I'm very careful about working something if there's the potential for catastrophe, and checked with everyone to ensure if I worked on this part of the server it wouldn't affect production. However, it was not the case, and production was affected (essentially the IDE I opened it in "updated" some of the settings, breaking a lot of things). I owned my mistake and offered to work with the team to get production back online, but they weren't interested. My mistake was working on their server; instead, I should have set up my own development environment to troubleshoot the issue.
