A native of Athens, Georgia, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia, in the footsteps of both of my parents, with a B.S. in Psychology and Public Health minor. Next, I obtained my M.A. in Educational Theatre from New York University. Most of my work was centered around how the arts can be used in prisons for rehabilitation and education. While working as a counselor in a women's prison, I earned a Graduate Certificate in Forensic Psychology. I decided to make a small career change from working with adults to working in the classroom. At University of West Florida, I went through an alternative teacher certification program, and I am certified in Drama, Art, and English. I then went on to teach high school theatre in a large, Title I School near Atlanta. I directed several plays and musicals, including a Shuler Award winner. Theatre will forever be my passion, and I continue to act and direct when I have the chance, with my most recent productions being children's musicals at the Natchez Little Theatre. I have a wide scope of work in education, arts and entertainment, nonprofits, prison reform, and mental health. I currently reside in New Orleans, Louisiana and teach High School English & Drama. I am a Doctoral Candidate at Manhattanville College with an expected dissertation defense in 2022.Beta ReadingBook EditingDevelopmental EditingLearning TheoryProofreadingCurriculum DesignElearning DesignElearning LMS ConsultingStorytellingData ScienceContent Writing - $20 hourly

I am an efficient editor and writer, with a special interest in language and literature. I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in English with a concentration on linguistics from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I am currently working toward my MLIS (Master of Library and Information Sciences) at Louisiana State University. I spent the fall of 2022 volunteering with the press at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. My work for the press included technical reviewing manuscripts, writing technical documents, and copy editing. As a student, I have taken several courses on English grammar, linguistics, and literature. I have worked with peers as a proofreader and advisor for their academic writing projects. Between the years of 2015-2019, I earned high scores and several awards from the AG National Fine Arts Festival for my creative writing. My goal as a freelancer is to create work that impresses both the client and myself. I always strive to exceed my clients' expectations by creating a product that makes both of us proud. I have a degree in mass communications with a focus in journalism and have always been an avid reader. So I have a strong background in writing and reading. I have a love/hate relationship with romance novels and grew up during the YA dystopian boom. The first novels I was obsessed with as a child were Nancy Drew books, so I also love a good mystery. I am a detective of sorts when it comes to finding plot holes and issues in stories that don’t work or don’t make any sense.Beta ReadingLiterature ReviewBook ReviewWriting CritiqueProofreading FeedbackBeta Reader Report - $15 hourly
