I am a journalism graduate of the University of South Florida and an experienced copywriter, scriptwriter, and copy editor. • My career began as a radio announcer – a DJ, if you will – which transitioned me into a seasoned interviewer, voiceover talent, and marketing project manager. Writing copy, scripts, and promotional material came early but took me years to tweak. I used my best skill, communication, then and now. Moving into direct radio sales established me in my local area. After six years, one of my retirement planning advertisers recruited me to work with their clients. • So, for the next ten years, I developed commercials and testimonials, coordinated weekly seminars, marketed promotional materials, and produced a weekly radio program. I followed up with the attendees, set appointments, and helped turn them into new clients. • In 2001, at the height of the 911 disasters, an opportunity to join Raymond James Financial, a Fortune 500 company, came along, and I could not pass it up. As an audio production broadcast media specialist, I was part of the award-winning Creative Services team, which produced Raymond James marketing materials, audio, video, and financial analyst satellite TV appearances. But mostly, I was writing, hosting, and producing audio interviews with top-producing financial advisors and management, each new audio and writing opportunity interwoven into my personal and professional growth. I was on the writing team for the firm's internal magazine for two years. While writing human interest and goal-oriented financial advisor stories, I maintained and helped develop style guidelines. • Then, in 2017, after nearly 16 years, I left Raymond James to pursue a remote writing position. Pittsburgh's Vendilli Digital Group was seeking a part-time proofreader and copy editor. In less than a year, the firm landed one of the oldest wealth management firms in Western Pennsylvania, and that opportunity led to full-time work for me. As their main contributor, I provided 200 compliance-approved fresh materials to publish for their website. • My ad agency and financial experience led to writing financial planning blogs, ghostwritten advisor blogs, articles for various publications, copy for TV and video, and email and promotional blasts.
