Currently taking on new students for the summer session! Spots are limited, so please connect with me as soon as possible if you're interested. I'm a National Merit Scholar who graduated from Notre Dame in 2020 with a degree in philosophy and environmental sciences. I'm now working on my PhD in the Philosophy, Politics, and Economics program at the University at Buffalo. I personally scored a 34 on the ACT shortly after my 16th birthday, as a homeschooled student with no access to tutors or test prep courses. My goal is to make your journey to (and through) college slightly easier than mine was! I can help you if: -You're a parent searching for a knowledgeable SAT/ACT/PSAT tutor for your high-school student. -You're a high-school student or college student in search of an experienced essay writer and editor to help you polish your college or graduate-school admissions essays and receive an acceptance to the school or program of your dreams. -You're in need of 1-on-1 tutoring in any of the following subjects at the high-school, junior college, or college level: Biology, Algebra, Trigonometry, Environmental Science. -You're a high-school or college student looking for advice on how to polish your school essays to earn higher grades. -You're in search of an experienced academic writer and editor who is comfortable handling technical work and large academic projects like grant proposals and dissertations. -You need assistance with preparing for the GRE exam. -You are in the process of writing a PhD- or masters-level dissertation, or bachelor’s thesis, and need assistance with editing your writing for clarity or incorporating your advisor’s feedback.Calculus

I am an experienced quantitative financial researcher with 15+ years of experience in the field. Before that, I used to be a Physicist in academia, where I had a passion for cosmology (my PhD thesis was in this) and Quantum Physics (I currently run a blog on Linkedin on this). As part of this background, I can contribute to gigs that involve any of the following, but not limited to it: • Data analysis (optimization, clustering, especially dealing with very noisy data, applying any mathematical model on data) • Machine Learning (random forests, adversarial networks, recurrent networks, ....) • Proficient in C, Python, C#, but you can definitely catch my interest if you have a problem involving the Wolfram Language • Passionate about Quantum Physics, so I would definitely enjoy projects that require working in theoretical Quantum Physics. • I can do projects that involve Mathematics (Chaos Theory, Dynamical Systems, Real Analysis). • Last, but not least, I have experience in the full cycle of generating systematic strategies from prototyping to implementing into production all the way to monitoring the execution.Calculus

Hi there, I'm Dan! I'm a long-time teacher and perpetual learner of physics and mathematics, with a strong emphasis on building intuitive understanding and convincing oneself of proven results (and a strong distaste for memorise-and-regurgitate forms of teaching). I currently work as an instructor at Art of Problem Solving at both the Virtual Campus and AoPS Online, where I teach classes, help students on message boards, and contribute to the company curriculum. I've been working as a teacher-tutor since 2015, and started focusing more on my tutoring business with the advent of COVID-19 back in 2020. Most of the sessions I do are virtual, but if we happen to be in the same geographical area, I'm happy to set something up in-person. :) I'm an alumnus of Northwestern University, Durham University, and the University of Cambridge, as well as a recipient of the QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship and the Marshall Scholarship. I have worked in the UK, US, and India over the years, which has helped me bring multiple cultural perspectives to the table in my goal of improving global education. I look forward to working with you!Calculus

I am new to the Upwork platform, but I am not new to providing excellent mathematics instruction. Since transitioning from the classroom in 2013 to start my own tutoring company in Atlanta, I have focused on providing personalized mathematics tutoring to students in middle school, high school, and college who felt unsuccessful under prior teaching modalities or with prior tutors. Sessions are tailored to the individual student's unique learning style by efficiently identifying gaps in knowledge, employing differing methods of instruction, tailoring instruction to the needs or accommodations outlined in a 504 or IEP plan (if applicable), and helping overcome emotional barriers such as anxiety, shame, and frustration that often prevent students from flourishing in the subject. Although I remain an active Atlanta-area tutor, I joined Upwork with a goal of finding additional opportunities to teach and consult in mathematics during the weekday hours my students are typically in school. Thus I am particularly interested in teaching opportunities that could occur during my weekday daytimes (8am-3pm EST). Hello! My name is Alex, and after a career in innovation and engineering management for two Fortune-500 companies I now greatly enjoy consulting as a technical specialist, research professional, business coach, proposal writer, strategy analyst, translator, and private tutor in STEM subjects (math, science, English, ACT/SAT/GRE prep). Following service in the Swedish Air Force as a platoon commander, I studied theoretical physics at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden and did formative research towards my doctorate at UC Santa Barbara. After graduating in 1998, I worked as a post-doctoral research associate at Sandia National Laboratories, as a Staff Scientist, Manager of Fuel Cell Research, and as an Executive Management Professional at Ford Motor Company and subsequently worked at Eaton Corporation as a Senior Technical Manager at their innovation center and then Worldwide Engineering Director for their Supercharger division. I spent three years consulting for a financial company in Manhattan, NY, including a year onsite as first COO and then President. I was born and raised in Sweden and have lived in the US for 25 years now. Besides a PhD in theoretical physics, geared towards applied material science, I also hold an MS in Civil Engineering and Engineering Physics. I have published about 45 professional articles in prominent scientific journals, been invited to present my work at about a hundred scientific conferences around the world and currently hold about a dozen patents. I speak four languages and have traveled to several dozen countries, as a technology and engineering leader, and have thereby experienced many cultures and languages.
