I'm an editor and typesetter. Does it make me odd that I love commas and ellipses? I primarily do line editing, copyediting, and proofreading. I also love typesetting and formatting even though looking for stacks and ladders and spacey lines is a dying art. I received my BA in English, creative writing. While at school, I learned the ins and outs of editing and publishing with the student journal, and since then I've edited and formatted freelance and with many new and experienced authors and several long-term clients. I also currently edit and format for Splinter Press.Chicago Manual of Style

My range of abilities and niches in English include copy editing, developmental editing, professional writing, and editing research papers. I have a bachelor's degree in communication (with a news/journalism emphasis) along with an English minor at Brigham Young University–Idaho. Through my studies and previous jobs, I have acquired a great knowledge of MLA-style writing, as well as knowledge in APA, AP, and Chicago. I have been published in places from my college newspaper to online magazines, and I currently have two books published on Amazon. With this practice in the fine art of crafting and arranging engaging sentences, I aspire to become a newspaper editor.Chicago Manual of Style

Hi there! Thanks for checking out my profile. I am currently building my portfolio, and am excited to put my knowledge and credentials to work for those looking for more competitive rates. I have extensive experience, just not as much on this platform as I would like, so here is a little bit about me and my background: I completed my master's degree in English in 2021, here are the highlights: -Poetry specialization -Excelled in research, short story, and memoir writing -Edited peer drafts, worked closely with them under tight deadlines -Taught university composition courses and tutored students across disciplines Here are my professional highlights: -Worked as a journalist and submission judge for literary magazine -Edited two published books: one in political genre and one in memoir genre -My own poetry has been published in several online magazines -Self-published an activity book for non-writers who want to try poetry Technical competency is necessary but not sufficient in my opinion; you need someone who "gets" the writer's mentality. My creative writing background gives me valuable perspective in understanding the minds of other writers, no matter their genre or subject matter. Your vision is paramount, so we will work together to make that vision a reality.Chicago Manual of Style
