I have been telling stories consistently since I was performing puppet shows in the living room as a kid. While my puppet friends and I have parted ways, I still cannot stop myself from seeking out stories and comedy - whether that's in everyday conversations or in my writing. In 2012 I began working on my own personal humor blog satirizing culture, politics, and myself. Working with kids from 2016 to 2019 also gave me an insight into young minds, helping me develop my own sense of creativity and imagination. While studying to get my degree in Writing from Eastern University, I discovered my passion for collaboration as editor-in-chief of Inklings, the college literary magazine. I also had the opportunity to write several short plays alongside the actors that would be performing in them, which was a valuable lesson in learning how to write for and with other people. I am constantly using this skill as a freelancer, balancing my own creative voice with the needs of my clients. My favorite projects have been the children's books, middle grade books, and young adult novels that I have ghostwritten. However, I can write for any age, and have written many genres, from humor, to science fiction, to fantasy, and thriller. For me, the most rewarding aspect of writing is helping others find their voices through believable characters and intriguing plots. This is not the only way to tell a story, though, as I have also helped create various funny scripts for YouTube, the stage, and other types of media. I can work on hourly projects (I estimate being able to write between 450-900 words per hour and edit between 900-1,800 words per hour), or write at a fixed rate of $0.18 per word (for books of 10,000+ words) or $0.20 per word (for books below 10,000 words). I am an author and illustrator of a recently published original book for children. I greatly enjoy collaborating with others and working to create something new and unique. I find that learning about the authors as people as well as what has inspired their unique and individual project is greatly helpful and interesting. Doing so enables me to create illustrations tailor made for them and as unique and individual as their story is. I also feel very honored and joyful to be part of another person's creative journey, to help bring something inside of them to life. The best example of my finished work is the children's book "Pura Vida Mae an original story for children" and I am extremely proud of the finished product, being that it is the culmination of a year's worth of inspiration, travel and work (if you really want to call writing and drawing pictures work, fun as it is, though it can be). I am also in the process of following that book with two other books for children that are in the works at this time. One is taking place in Africa. The other takes place in Costa Rica and is being written and illustrated for a non profit conservation organization that is very near and dear to my heart, this book is also part of the same series that "Pura Vida Mae" is.
