I have my M.S in Social Work with a B.A in Psychology. A majority of my work experience has been in hospital-based settings, specifically on inpatient psychiatry units working with children and adolescents. While on these units, I am required to write treatment plans consisting of goals as well as individual therapy notes, progress notes and family therapy notes. This documentation then gets sent to insurance companies for review. In turn, this either allows a patient to continue their inpatient stay or cease funding. I am also responsible for reviewing the case notes from other inpatient social workers and interns for grammar, syntax, content and overall cohesion. In addition, I write letters for families to send to residential placement facilities, to receive FMLA or as recommendations for other levels of care outside of an inpatient facility. As I am currently taking some time off due to moving across the country, I realized I have always been passionate about writing. I've remained hyperaware of grammar and syntax, which provided me the opportunity to proofread and edit various papers for peers throughout my college years.
